Ok I just picked up Sonar after my old Cakewalk recording software couldn't use Amplitube as a plugin. Ok I ran into a problem I can't seem to fix.

I get no output when trying to record.

My input is fine the audio track meter shows green but there is no action on the effects meter or the master meter. I tried re routing the out put from the audio track but everything I've tried hasn't helped. I can get it to work if I put the echo audio button active but that is quite impractiical. I noticed in the Amplitube VST window that the input meter and output meter both don't show anything so I thought that must be the problem but even if I try recording dry I get nothing. After I record for a sec without any sound. I can hear the playback I just want sound while I'm recording dammit. :o

So what did I miss?

plug-ins only work post-recording, not pre-recording. You would have to use Amplitube Live to be able to hear anything other than just your dry guitar when recording.

Go into the audio setup in Sonar and make sure the right drivers and outputs/inputs are selected. Then, go into your computer's/soundcards audio control and make sure the right inputs and outputs are selcted, and nothing is muted that's not supposed to be.

I had exactly the same problem... and I never figured it out properly.

I was short on time, so in the end I bought a new soundcard and set it all up again (sold the old one on ebay and made a profit... but anyway)...

I think on the basis that the new hardware worked for me, it's got to be connected to the drivers for whatever your input device is...

I have sonar also. And did have this problem.
After messing with all the I/O devices for what seems like forever, I got it working.
But I have a latency issue.
The sound comes out of the speakers a second after its played on the guitar.
Any Idea on how to fix that one?
I was running straight to the soundcard through a cable adapter.
Not the best setup but all I have.

(need to get me a digitech 3000 or gnx4 to record with)
