Well another month has come and gone. Octobers backing was superb and the takes were awesome as well. On to this months track!

I found this one at guitarbt.com. Here is the thread link. He has a nice soundclick page you can dl the backing from or you can right click and save target on the attachment in this post. Have fun guys!

just a little help for people who might be having trouble,

The whole song is in the key of B minor, so essentially you can play the Bminor scale or Bminor pentatonic over the whole thing.

The chords for the verse:

----------------------
----------------------
----------------------
----------------------
---9-----------10-----
---7-----------7------

The chords for the chorus:

G Eminor
G Eminor
G Eminor
G A
Miracle Blade 4: Gibs on touch.

It's such a beautiful backing track, I could not resist. It's a little crude but again the song is so b-u-t-ful.
I will certainely revisit it but that's my first try.
You can listen to it @:
http://www.soundclick.com/bands/songInfo.cfm?bandID=388007&songID=4627121

And please any comments are welcome.
BTW: my wife hates the way I started the song but I wanted to try something different.

Thanks again the BT...

Inventive intro !! I like it, its a break from the norm  the solo itself was very good but there was a major inotation issue or so it sounded to me.. perhaps redo it and bring up the mix of your solo a bit as You deffinatly have skills!! btw what axe you play?

Rgrandsire - nice job, some great tense licks in there. Beautiful tone, as well!

Alucard - great! Loved the intro, very exotic-sounding, and the recurring tapping lick was cool as well.

Both are very original takes on a very difficult backing track .

- Attributed variously to Leadbelly and Louis Armstrong

If at first you don't succeed, you are obviously not Chuck Norris.

I am using a LTD KH (Kirk HAmmet model) and I am disapointed because it does not stay in tune even withthe Floyd Rose. I have an old Ibanez that always stays in tune no matter what but the LTD grrrr
Thanks for the comment. I think I'll re-do it with the Ibanez...

Well I was'nt questioning your playing skills, because you deffinatly got those!! and you get the LTD KH looked at? They seem like a fairly sturdy axe..anyway looking forward to hearing your new solo!! I will submit mine in a week or 2

I am lot happier with that version. Basically I tried to be more melodic than playing a million notes (like the one before).
I am kind of proud of that one, it could be better but I wanted to still capture something spontaneous rather than re-playing the same thing 2200 times.

I played a Epiphone Les Paul and an Ibanez RG440L through either a Zoom or a Digitech RP200 effect.

Tell me what you think:

Demoniac - pretty good, man! Liked the tremolo picking section in the second chorus a lot.

Not rubish at all, it's actually pretty good. The sound quality on another hand is terrible. Do you record with like a mike in the room and playing both your guitar and the backing track?

That's exactly what I did, because I don't have any proper recording equipment - sorry :o. I suppose I really shouldn't record anything unless I have something suitable to actually record with :o

I recomend, if your amp has a direct out, to get a 1/4 to 1/8 adaptor and plug your amp into your computer's sound card. Then record the solo and add the backing track as another layer. That is exactly what I did, and my recording quality came out perfect. The adaptor is no more than 6 to 8 bucks :D

The hardest part about this backing track, imo, is how not to make it sound boring. Honestly, when im listening to my solo, half way through, i just get bored. Its a good BT, but very hard to work with. :o

Yes, it is indeed a hard ( but very good ) backing track - especially for the "techniqually" challenged! :o

This I am not very happy with, but here goes nothin'...

November Pain

Recording wise, I do exactly what Alucard has suggested - amp into PC sound card. Sometimes just use a Korg effects pedal instead. Free multitrack recording software - Audacity. Excellent value! :)
Can you play "Far Far Away?"

Yes - how far would you like?

No that's not true, I am just thinking that if you can something the way you did you can find free tools on the web to get a much better recording quality and a betterexperience too.

I may re-do it if you think it needs a lot more work.
