@ markc2005.... I want to say that it's in the key of E, but I really have no idea.

@ Superhuman.... Glad you like the track! I had been listening to a lot of VH when I wrote that... obviously lol :D

@ Akira.... I hate that you're not going to get to participate with the new track, but I still love the original you did! Hope you get your hand straightened out!

Yup. E mixolydian and E dorian will work, but for true EVH-ness the E blues scale is the place to head for. :)

Akira what happen to your hand man? Hope it's not serious.

I don't think this is my final take but I have to work on SRV's Tight Rope this month so I want to make sure I have an entry. Great background track PRS. I had ideas right away.

Here it is: Sept GT Solo

Hope to clean it up later in the month. 2 notes out of key around 1:50 I think (Don't you hate that  ).

Good luck everyone fun track to play with.

Great backing track there, nice one, Eric.

Akira - Sorry to hear about the hand, hope it gets better soon. That was a pretty damn good lead, though. I really liked the melodic stuff, and the shredding really brought out your Vai influence.

Nick - Very nice! I like that edgy, "fusion-y" ( :o) distortion you used; and correct me if I'm completely wrong (which I often am), but I thought I could hear a bit of a fusion influence in some of those hooks and lines you played. Some great lead ideas there.

Alucard - Shred-tastic! I loved those whammy licks at the beginning at the end. Nice vibrato, as well.

CW - That wasn't cheesy at all, it was very well-structured and tasteful. The harmonies sounded awesome, they really made the solo, and the pinch harmonics were cool too. Great take.

Can't wait to hear the rest!

If at first you don't succeed, you are obviously not Chuck Norris.

Well, here is my horrible and probably lightly screwed up take, also please tell me if you think my lead is going too fast for the backing, cuz it may be true....please, don't ask...

Some cool licks, Fender. Do I sense a fellow John McLaughlin follower? ;)

Tendonitis can really suck, but the good thing is, it does get better. I was diagnosed with severe tendonitis in both of my shoulders several years ago. They still give me a bit of trouble here and there, but for the most part, they're fine now. I am however starting to develope it in my elbow now. I believe it is from a previous injury to it, and having to use my arm an awful lot at work without much support for my elbow. Sometimes I will have pains that go from where my shoulder meets my neck, all the way down into my wrist. I also think I'm starting to develope CTS in my hand as well :(

Nope. I just try to go easy when it bothers me, and try to pay attention to how use my hand and arm. If it gets bad enough, I'll see a dr. though. My mom had CTS surgery 3 times. Once in her left, and twice in her right. :(

While jamming this afternoon, I was fartin' around with some backing tracks - and one of them happened to be this one. So here is my entry; astonishingly bad, as always, but at least you can hear the backing track this time :o ;).

Good job! I liked everything but the ya ya. It has digitech written all over it. It's nice for a novelty effect here and there, but it just clutters up the notes too much. Made it kinda hard to tell just what you were playing. Other than that, it sounded great. Were you playing with your fingers instead of a pick?

Yeah, I come from the Mark Knopfler school of electric guitar :D. I just can't play with a pick; I guess it's because I played piano and bass for ten years before I started guitar, so I'm used to my fingers.
Yep, you can always tell that sludgy Digitech goodness when you hear it :D.
