I also played piano for a long time before I picked up the guitar, but I'm still more comfortable with a pick. I just feel like I've got more control. I can still play with my fingers if I have to though, just not to the extent that you can lol. I just picked up the bass a couple months ago, and am having a time getting used to using my fingers lol. It's coming though, slowly but surely. My first effects processor was a digitech RP100, then I stepped up to the RP2000. So, I can usually recognize it when someone uses digitech for their tone. They just have a certain steril digitalness to them that sometimes hurts my ears. I have heard some great tones from them though, and they are lots of fun to play with.

The thing I don't like about my Digitech is the fuzz distortion amp model. It's terrible, and as you said, it screams "processed". I love the sound of fuzz, but because the model on my RP80 is so dicey, I'm considering getting a proper fuzzbox to use independently. All the other amp models are pretty cool, though.

What`s up guys.
I was playing around over the backing track and I came up with another take.
Sorry for the sound quality.
It`s called... S-19... and has the girl on the picture.
Cheers!

Equator - I only just got around to listening to your takes! Sorry about that, man... anyhow, the second one rocked! Your playing reminds me pleasantly of John Petrucci.

Not sure if I'll get one in on time this month... had major pc problems that required reformating and rebooting everything from scratch, still havent found the time to get Cubase SX3 reinstalled... took about a day to download all of the critical updats from microsoft alone! This is also the busy season in my line of business so I'm working 11 hour days, havent had the chance to play guitar at all in a while.
Anyway, if I get a chance to record anything it will be tomorrow night - hope I don't miss the deadline! In the mean time, I only had a chance to listen to CW14 so far, great take, I loved the harmonies and the fact that they created a workable hook. Nice tone and technique. I'll listen to everyone else too and comment on them all in the next week or so.

Methinks it will be a very tough choice this month, even tougher if Billy and Superhuman get their tracks done on time.

Great works are performed, not by strength, but by perseverance.

I know I'm late with the submission. Don't vote one this but i dug the backing so I had to do something. I am still trying to get my soundclick acccount to get set up proper. I'll post a link ASAP. I called the piece Late September to illustrate my tardyness :)
