For a while, it made me feel as though there was no hope for our society. Hell, I still can't watch an advertisement without being reminded of Blade Runner. Basically, I think that movie messed me up a bit - but, for all that, it's a brilliantly-made film.

Then why stop at Blade Runner? Nearly every futuristic sci-fi movie is pretty much like that. Commerce takes over and the planet just becomes a barren wasteland of business run by machines. I dunno, I don't think you really have much to worry about, certainly not in any of our lifetimes anyway. And especially not with as many environmentalists as there are.

Maybe you're right, but still - that damn recurring Coca-Cola ad in the movie has scarred me for life...

The former is about a kid who meets an old Nazi General who is wanted for crimes against humanity. He blackmails the old man into telling him the morbid details of the death camps. Very interisting little story. The Long Walk is about a contest where the prize is anything you want. Forever. The contestants are young boys still not yet out of high school. The game is you just keep walking until you drop. The last one standing or should I say living is the winner. They shoot you if you can't go on. The last one is about a man who is invited to an exclusive story telling club. Most of the members are elderly. They meet at regular intervals and tell stories some better than others but the one that the guy tells at the end........

Sorry I seem to have carried on a bit. Read. It's good for your creativity. If you want to be songwriters it's necassary.

This public service message brought to you by me.

The long walk seems like an interesting movie.... hmm i will check it out

Somehow I get the feeling I am right, considering the government has even taken drastic steps in some situations to preserve the natural environment. I don't think people are just going to sit idle while, say, Serpent Mound gets obliterated because people think it would make for a good place to manufacture Coca-Cola.

larry the cable guy says it all the time during his stand-up comedy acts. he also says "forgive me for that lord, and bless the little pigmies in africa" or something along those lines, and also "git-r-done".. somehow, people find that when someone says something over and over... and over... and over... that it's funny.

personally, I though that the blue collar comedy guys were funny the first few times I saw them.. now they are so overpopularized, that their jokes are starting to get redundant.

My outloook goes something like this. There are plenty of channels to watch, yeah, but you can only watch one at a time, two with picture in picture, but that's really not that great. And even just two at once, that's a lot of television gone to waste and furthermore about 95% of the stuff on television is something I don't like, so why pay for it if I don't like what it offers?

Tarantino directs one scene. The rest is directed by Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez, and they do a fabulous job. I'm not a huge fan of Tarantino as a director, but he's an excellent actor.

Has anyone seen a flick called Four Rooms? It's four different little stories that happen to a Bellhop. The stories are all written and directed by different people but mesh rather nicely. Tarantino directs part of it and stars in his own little part. Pretty funny movie.
