Okay..I know how to Drop D tune. That's pretty easy to do. Just hold the 12th fret on the 6th string. Pluck strings 5 and 6 and keep lowering the 6th string till the sound stops clashing. But how do you tune to a Drop A, or C tuneing. Like in Chevelle's song "Clincher". there tuneing goes as this.

Tuning: Drop A# (A# F A# D# G C)

I have two eletric guitar tuners. But they just have 5 lvl's of flat. I didn't see in the booklet anywhere if this is also used to Possibly drop tune. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Rock On!

Actually, you want to hold at the 7th fret of the low E to tune to D.Your simply dropping your low E by a whole-tone(two notes).

Heres a link that might help...

"Chuck"... is rigth. If you hold the 12th fret on the low "E" string, and try to match it to the sound of the open 5th string; you would be trying to drop the tuning to "A". Which is just too low(3.1/2 steps), and sounds pretty bad.
The lowest you can go before sounding bad is 2 steps, that`ll be droping the sixth string to "C".
So, if you wanna tune the sixth string to "C" you have to hold the fifth string on fret 3, and lower the sixth until the sound of both strings matches.

Hey dude I`m not trying to give you a hard time. OK? ;)
I`m just sending the rigth information for other people reading this thread.
If you hold the fifth string on the 12th fret and drop the sixth string; you would be tuning the sixth to "A" again.
So, if you wanna drop the sixth string to "D", you can:
1) Hold the fifth string on the fifth fret and then drop the sixth,
..................................or...............................................
2) Play the Open fourth string and drop the sixth string until they match.

I did a google search and I didn`t find anything about tunig to "A".
However, I did find something about tuning to:
-Open "C", and
-low "C"
Here`s a link for more tunings:

Yeah...don't make it too hard. Just tune to the open D string for dropped D. However, I know that Chevelle used baritone guitars for those tunings (A), so it might be pretty hard for a regular guitar to go that low without the strings just flapping around. I've found that C is generally my practical limit on an SG.
