Anybody else in the path of this thing? I'm about 280 miles directly north of they eye right now. They say we'll be getting cat 2 or 3 hurricane winds up this far north later today (probably just hearsay). I don't believe it will get that bad though. I think the main thing we have to worry about is flooding. I should be safe from any flooding though. As of right now, it's steadily raining and a little windy. I'll keep ya'll posted if things get worse.
Keep everybody who's having to go through this, especially those along the coast line, in your thoughts and prayer!

hey dude, my advice, put all your guitars in their cases, you don't want a prs fallin off the wall (if you hang your guitars on the wall like I do)
but seriously though, my best thoughts and wishes go out to you, don't die on us!!! if you don't post in the next 10 days then we are going to send a guitar tricks search party, led by jolly...

I had never even heard of Katrina until I saw this photo. Jeezus f*ing christ, that's a big storm.

I believe it's 600 miles wide.

I'm hoping everyone is okay that is in the path. Hurricanes are not fun, I toughed out Hurricane Hugo many years ago. Well, it wasn't in total force when it hit us, we're about 80 miles inland, so it had lost a lot of strength. I'll never forget how calm it is in the eye of a hurricane. It's amazing, and freaky at the same time....literally blue skies, then the storm hits again..
Again, I hope everyone that is in Katrina's path makes it out okay.

Hopefully it'll be pretty weak by the time it makes it here to Memphis. Good luck PRSplaya. Hopefully there won't be much flooding.

Well, I finally made it home from work. The drive home sucked too! Wind had me going all over the road. Now the power if flickering, so I probably wont be able to be on much longer. I think the worst is supposed to hit between midnight and 2a.m., so we'll see how that goes. Right now the winds are between 28-40 mph.

Well, I made it through Katrina. Thanks to Katrina I got to drive 40 miles to work only to find out that the power was out, and will be out for a long time. So, I had to make another 40 mile trip back home  . I've got power here for now, but with all the work that's being done with the power lines, that's liable to go out any given moment. Nothing happened to my house, but a HUGE oak tree almost fell on my granparents house. It would have killed them both if it had been a direct hit :( . If I was chattin' with any of you last night in the chat room, and you noticed I left quite abruptly, it was because the power went out. Thanks for all of your concern. Now just keep those that really got hit hard in your thoughts and prayer.

Glad you made it through dude. There's all sorts of crap out on the roads down here, from little branches to whole trees. I'm glad Mississippi was there to slow this thing down :p

Yep, good to hear you're all right. The only thing we got here was a flood of cajuns, and some waves for the surfers. That was one mean lookin storm though...the Texas coast lucks out again. But again, thoughts go out to those hardest hit.

Uhhhh, there are surfers anywhere there is a coastline....some places are just better than other. I used to surf when I had the time. We'd load up and drive to Charleston S.C. Huge waves, let me tell ya, gigantic 3 foot waves, haha...

oh ok, i was always more into sidewalk surfing (skateboarding) in fact, I've never been surfing, but it always looked fun to me. nowadays I just snowboard at least once or twice per season... I'm hoping to get my own snowboard for christmas this year, and then get a season pass and drive up and go snowboarding every weekend this winter.

I used to skate also, along with surfing and wakeboarding. Used to compete on an amateur league wakeboarding tour about 8 years ago, then went to college and never got the chance to wakeboard anymore. Now I just go snowboarding once or twice a year at Snowshoe West Virginia.....Hey, maybe we can get a group of GuitarTrick members to meet up there and go snowboarding.....
Oooops, here I go again changing the topics....Sorry.
