BTW The Beatles kick ass muahaha i love the song "come together"

This is the best point yet. You guys posts a million songs here and are like wow what a great song and I thought wtf this is garbage. I didn't tell you that your bands are stupid but I suppose I could start since that seems to be the thing to do here.

I already know about slip knot hate breed and all of those bands.
Oh and your right thats why pantera is also on my list of best bands ever, how about old metallica? there on my list too. I think you need to learn to how to appreciate other stlyes of music. I already do. And metal bands are not the greatest. The greatest guitar player that I've ever heard was tim reynolds As for linkin park, alot of people used to say the same type of bs about kurt coban until he killed himself and now no one would dare to say it. And you didn't hurt me i just think that your close minded,

Folks, none of you are going to change anybody's minds, nor is the "debate" getting any more constructive or informative.

It's time to drop it and let the discussion get back on topic.

Yes, I am ending this convo.
But I cant stand it when people talk about how people like hilary duff or other bands/singers that i cant stand are great but guess what i do, i shut the hell up and dont say anything. Plus i dont diss bands when i havn't heard their albums or anything.

I like alot of bands that are not mainstream, i just happen to like linkin park and they happen to be mainstream. but anyways!

Oh, metallica is awsome. I have some guys friends that are absolutly obsessed with them.

The new greenday album is not bad at all (and i dont like them that much either).

p.s i wish i understand one day why do metalheads have to hate or diss anything which is not metal..
Look at your guitar heros, look at Hammet even for example, writing columns about Stevie Ray Vaughan.
Try to realise theres more music in the world than heavy /death/ whatever metal.
Peace

Hi i'm new here, but thought i would give my top ten...

1) Journey - Look into the Future
2) Alvin Lee - Bluest Blues
3) AC/DC - Whole Lotta Rosie
4) Boston - Hitch A Ride
5) Boston - More Than a Feeling
6) Iron Maiden - Sign of the Cross
7) Scorpions - The Zoo
8) Warrant - Uncle Toms Cabin
9) Journey - Something to Hide
10) Slade - Run Runaway

If anyone hasn't heard look into the future, i highly recommend looking it up. Many people didn't hear pre-steve perry journey and in my opinion they were a lot better then. Neal schon outdoes himself on guitar throughout this whole song, best song i have ever heard. unfortunately never fully appreciated outside of their home town Bay Area--

"Yes i'm coming home, i'm coming home someday...."

Some of my faves in no order,

01) Estranged - Guns n Roses
02) Run to You - Brian Adams
03) Set Me Free - Velvet Revolver
04) Serial Killer - Slashs Snakepit
05) Janies Got a Gun - Aerosmith
06) Tuesdays Gone - Lynyrd Skynyrd
07) Welcome to the Jungle - Guns n Roses
08) Beat It - Michael Jackson
09) Master of Puppets - Metallica
10) Highway to Hell - ACDC

The trouble with claiming to love Linkin Park.. is it just shows you havent explored other musical avenues further. If Park were respectable then fine.. but the fact that its met with laughter must give you some indication that a Guitar Playing forum disagree and must have a legit reason for doing so. I think Linkin Park are an awful band.

I think it's largely a question of maturity.

I love Maiden, Sabbath, CoB, Carcass, Dying Fetus, Scissorfight and Suffocation as much as I love Morphine, Charlie Hunter, Ani Difranco, Primus, Stone Temple Pilots, Black Flag, Zappa, Ben Harper and The Mad Caddies. The biggest (old school) Death Metal head I know doesn't count Cannible Corps as his favorite band, he cites The Urge (who had a lot horns and upbeats in their music). It took him a few years, but eventually he realized "hey, this Ska stuff isn't so bad" and the fact is, his life is richer for it.

So as you get older, you see there's more to a lot of what's out there than you first thought.

Next, you learn when it is and when it isn't worth your effort or appropriate to argue about what you think is good and what you think isn't: I can't stand to listen to Linkin Park -- so what? That isn't what this thread is about, so not only would I be wasting my effort to expound upon that fact, I wouldn't even be on-topic.

Dude, The Urge rocks! They're from St. Louis, not to far from me, and there not really even big around here as they should be. Catchy music for sure.

I couldn't agree more.

Also, I guess I drove right by you on my way from Louisiana to Chicago a few months ago.
