Description
In this tutorial we’re going to continue learning the fundamentals of Travis Picking, this time with a focus on adding different rhythmic concepts. Groove, rhythm and syncopation is an incredibly important part of Travis Picking, so be sure to really focus on your timing and feel throughout this tutorial. We’re going to keep it in the key of E for consistency, but keep in mind these concepts apply to every key.
Last time we learned how to get that palm muted, thumbpick sound, how to alternate the bass strings for each chord, how to pick the rest of the chord with our other fingers as well as how to incorporate hammer-ons within a progression. In this tutorial we’re going to keep on that path and learn slightly more difficult concepts including adding syncopation, arpeggiating the chord, chord muting and more.
