Description
The Stratocaster is the quintessential guitar choice for this song, but any electric guitar is suitable. I’ve selected the neck pickup for a warm, round tone.
A Fender tube amp is the best choice to replicate the electric tone in this tune. Dial in a clean sound with a touch of grit - for example, set the Preamp Gain to 55%, Bass to 50%, Mids to 55%, Treble to 60%, and Presence to 65%. In the solo section for Guitar 2, kick in a treble booster for a bit more gain and sustain. Add a touch of reverb to both guitars for depth.
Since we’re in standard tuning, I’m using regular light gauge strings that are 10-46 along with a heavy pick.
