The Hybrid Travis Picking Pattern
In this lesson we'll adapt our basic Travis Picking picking pattern to be played with the pick and your 2nd and 3rd finger.
You can use any of the options. The most important thing is that you're getting a feel for the using the combination of pick and fingers.
Now let's try that for 16 bars with the metronome, and then we'll end on a strum of the open E major chord.
And now let me demonstrate what it sounds like at a faster tempo over a simple backing track. Don't stress about playing along right now- just try to notice how much more articulated the bass notes are now. It's a really great sound!
