Mike will show you the 2 guitar layers in this song. Guitar 1 plays all the rhythm riffs with a high gain tone. Guitar 2 plays an extra high gain riff in the intro, and a tasty melodic hook with a clean tone throughout.

The tune starts with a low dynamic drum machine beat to set the mood, then explodes into the massive chorus riff and groove. The second half of the intro switches to a heavy chug rhythm while Guitar 2 adds a catchy single note hook.

The verse continues the chugging sound with a new progression, the guitar brings up the dynamic in the pre-chorus with a new progression. The chorus is the highest dynamic with a powerful riff providing a rock solid foundation.

In the following lessons, we’ll talk about power chords, palm muting, and dynamics. We are in the key of B minor, with a 4/4 time signature, at a tempo of 156 BPM.
