Mike will show the single guitar layer tuned to dropped D that transitions from a lower dynamic clean sound all the way to full out high gain crunch.

The tune starts out with a low dynamic intro riff that sets the mood and a bass riff that sets the stage for the verse sections that follow.

The guitar enters the mix with some palm muted single note riffing and washy chord arpeggiations. The arrangement builds to some wide open power chord riffing. Halfway through, the dynamic comes back down for an extended section featuring a repeated hypnotic riff. The tune builds back up to some high dynamic riffing leading to the climactic final verse and outro.

In the following lessons, we’ll talk about dropped D tuning, odd time signatures, dynamics, and syncopated riffing. We are in the key of D minor, with various time signatures, at a tempo of 107 and 112 BPM.
