One of my personal favorite ways to use a volume pedal is to create the swell effect we've explored with the volume knob on our guitar. This is particularly effective when it's combined with the pedal steel vocabulary you learned earlier on. If you want to, and the part allows for it, you can combine this effect with the tone knob swell.
