Hi, I'm Dave with Guitar Tricks and in this lesson I'll show you the nuts and bolts for playing "Sister Christian" by Night Ranger. Like many metal bands in the 80's, Night Ranger scored their biggest hit with a ballad. Sister Christian is a power ballad that rocked stadiums and arenas around the world with dramatic dynamic changes - from whisper quiet to loud and proud.

In addition, there's a guitar arrangement of the iconic piano intro. The Pre-Chorus builds with guitars 2 and 3 playing pumping eighth notes into the big chorus. The Chorus riff has palm muted lower strings and sustaining power chords.

And there's a great expressive and melodic guitar solo.

"Sister Christian" is in the key of C major, in 4/4 time and played at approximately 90 BPM.
