Description
In this lesson we'll explore the top 3 strings of the A major pentatonic scale. The first thing you want to do is grab your A major barre-chord with the root on the 6th string. The fret where we have our barre is the important one right now, so remember that. For this chord it's the 5th fret. Now let go of the chord and put your pinkie in the 5th fret of the high E-string. That's the first and highest note of our scale pattern. In this lesson we'll practice one "octave" of this scale pattern, which means we'll go up and down the scale until the same letter name repeats.
