Description
Simply put, a chord is what you get when you put at least three different notes together in a 'recipe', of sorts. As you might suspect, there are zillions of possibilities, and every combination of notes will create its own blended sound.
We are going to start by learning some chords that use only three strings, so it will be easy for you to hear the kinds of changes that happen as you vary one element or another within the combination of notes and strings you are playing.
These first chords you will learn are called 'simple chords', meaning they use only the highest three strings of the guitar: G, B, and E. The lowest three strings of the guitar are off limits in these chords!
