Description

DADGAD is one of several Alternate Tunings (sometimes called "Open Tunings") that are used on the acoustic guitar.

To get into DADGAD tuning, you will change the tuning on three of your strings, and leave the other three as they were in standard tuning.

First, using your open D string (fourth string) as a reference note, tune your low E string DOWN to a D. It will be one octave below your open D string.

Second, again using your open D (fourth string) as a reference note, tune your high E string DOWN to a D. It will be one octave above your open D string.

Finally, using your open A (fifth) string as a reference note, tune your second string (B string), down to an A. It will be one octave above the open A string.

That's it! Your strings, low to high, should now be tuned D, A, D, G, A, D.
