First let's explore a classic delay setting that's used a lot on guitar solos. It doesn't really change your sound, but it adds some epic ambience to it.

After we've dialed the tone, I'll show you a rock lick that will work well with this effect, and then we'll try it out over a backing track. I'll play it verbatim the first two times, and then I'll start improvising with it.
