Description
After a 4 bar drum intro, the guitar enters with an open yet ominous riff. Start out at the 4th fret with a dropped power chord shape (E power chord), then add the minor 3rd note on the D string (7th fret). The extended note adds a dark mood to the chord.
Pay attention to the dynamic of the arrangement, playing the riff softly in the quiet verses, then aggressive in the full-out choruses. Note in the 2nd and 3rd choruses, the addition of the G octave at the 7th fret adds some drama and tension to the part.
