Description
The tune starts with a rhythm guitar playing through the I-IV-V progression underneath the main riff.
No palm muting here, just wide open strumming. You could do it all downstrokes, but I tend to play alternate strumming here to preserve my wrist muscles for the tight palm muted downstroke rhythms needed in other sections of the song.
Notice the I-IV-V progression, a hallmark of many pop and rock songs.
