Description

Now let's learn the solo of the song. The solo occurs of the chord changes of the chorus, so it starts on the IV chord. This is a classic 50s rock kind of solo, and you can learn alot just from the simple techniques used here by the guitarist Scotty Moore, one of the early greats of rock guitar.

Notice how simply he plays, and he doesn't move around too much. He stays in a position for awhile, and uses bending within a solo riff. This is classic blues and R&B style soloing- not a lot of single notes all over the neck, but an emphasis on feel within a simple structure.
