Description

In this lessons we'll play all of the CAGED scale forms in G Major using the 8th note rhythmic grouping. This is counted "1&2&3&4&". It is helpful to count while you play. Understanding this rhythmic grouping is a key to controlling your playing. Play along with me as I demonstrate this with a metronome set at 75 beats per minute (bpm).

In your practice sessions at home, focus on one scale for several minutes, taking time to move it up and down the fretboard into all keys. This will build your sense of playing in time, playing in key and building your chops.
