My tip this week is to use a tuner app for your smartphone. You can buy them for a couple of bucks, and many of them are really, really good. That way you always have a tuner handy, whenever you have your phone.
In this lesson I'm going to try to demystify the concept of open tunings, cause that's a concept that so many people misunderstand. They think they have to adapt all the things they already know and therefore they get intimidated and overwhelmed by the open tunings. But open tunings are created to make certain specific things really easy, so you just have to look for what those things are and not worry about all the rest. This applies to any open tuning, but in this lesson I'll show how it works with open D-tuning. This is the same as the open E-tuning, only down a whole step.
I hope you're excited to go the open D and E-tuning some more on your own. If you liked this lesson, then GT has other lessons on how to use open tunings!

More ReviewsI find it quite easy (so far!) to navigate, and found the "where do I start" to be very helpful! I'm getting there!!
I LOVE the forum, too. I've never been one to use forums, but the GT forum is full of great people and helpful information at ALL levels! Congrats on a WONDERFUL site!!
Good job!
