On this recording you hear a steel-string acoustic, in standard tuning, played without a pick- just fingers. For this part I'll be using my Martin-style "VKV" acoustic, but as always you can use any kind of steel string acoustic for it. I'll be getting the tone that you hear in the video from a combination of this built-in L.R. Baggs pickup/microphone and the overhead mic that I'm also talking through. But whether you record this song or perform it on a small or a big stage, the goal is to make it sound like you're sitting on a front porch or in a living room, right in front of the guitar. So don't add any effects, delay or big reverb. Cause it's all about the bare bones acoustic sound for this song!
