Now let's look at the slide part that guitar 2 will play. We'll start with tuning our guitar to an open G. Here's a comparison between standard tuning and open G tuning, going from the low E string up to the high E:

E - D
A - G
D - D
G - G
B - B
E - D

This tuning will give us an open G chord. You might be wondering why D is our lowest note and not G if this is open G tuning - the way that open G tuning works is that you essentially tune to a G chord in 2nd inversion, meaning that you put the 5th in the bass.

This is a simple but very cool and effective part - most of it consists of just sliding from the 8th fret to the 12th fret using the top 4 strings, starting on beat four of every other bar and letting the chord ring out on beat 1. For the turnarounds, we'll do a full stop on beat 1, then move down to D and slide down chromatically to C.

The only variation here is a sweet little single note lick that occurs towards the end of the song.
