Description

Now that you've had a basic introduction to the notes used in rock lead playing and the overall concept of improvising, it's time to explore some tools you can use to add some more expression, emotion, and feeling to the notes you play.

Two of the most important tools for this are called bending and vibrato, and they both have to do with pushing and pulling the strings in order to change the pitch and make your lead lines sound more "human", like a singer.

These tools are absolutely essential to the sound of rock lead playing and although they do require a lot of work, it will be absolutely worth it since you will eventually be using these tools every time you solo in a rock context.
