Description
In our major scale lessons, we took one scale and started in from one place and utilized two different patterns. Thinking similarly, we are going to cover start from the same pattern, using the major pentatonic scale instead, and move to the same scale one octave higher when we descend. This creates a nice fluid motion that explores the possibilities of this scale, and allows us to think outside of just one standard pattern when playing this scale. We will be using the key of D major to demonstrate this idea.
The notes in the D major pentatonic scale are:
D - E - F# - A - B
Applying this idea across 6 strings, let's try this concept in the style of Nels Cline (Wilco.)
