The Major Pentatonic Scale

Get full access

Like our examples in the major scale, it is always important to explore scale patterns that start from the same location but end in a different place. This allows to explore the possibilities from a central location and ideally broaden our perspective of the major pentatonic scale. Utilizing the key of Eb major, we are going to play two different major pentatonic patterns that start from the Eb root on the A string. We will connect these patterns to ideally see how close, yet different, these patterns can be.

The notes in the key of Eb major pentatonic are:
Eb - F - G - Bb - C

Let's explore this idea by playing a lead example in the style of Brian May (Queen.)
