On my left hand I cut off the end. See picture. Any ideas that might help hit the strings better? [br][br]

The image is not viewable. Please try again? Without looking I suggest prosthetic finger tips.

Hope that helps!
Tony Iommy from Black Sabbath famously cut the tips of his chord hand while working on a lathe. He overcame this potentially career-ending injury by creating his own plastic fingertips by melting down washing-up liquid bottles and moulding them to fit his fingers while still warm.

You could look to using a re-purposed thimble or something similar. The only difficulty you'll have, I think, is the lack of 'feel', but if Tony can build a multi-million selling career stretching six decades, I'm sure a bit of perserverence will pay dividends.

Thanks for the pics! It looks like one of those artificial prosthetic finger tips might help.
But it depends on how much dexterity you can manage without one. And maybe how much sensation you have in the tip of you rmiddle finger. Can you play at all? Have you started? If so, does fretting with your middle finger hurt at all?
Also, what kind of music do you want to play? And what kind of guitar do you have? Using lighter gauge strings might help.
Doesn't hurt. Just big and flat. I bought a classic and I just started playing or should say learning. I'll keep going. Maybe it will build up some kind of callus that will help.
The more I play the better it gets. Finger will likely be an issue but not enough to make it song like a song!
