Apparently (and this is from the customer service guy at Fender UK) ..

The early Jap strats were made in the USA for export only.

This one has "made in the USA" stamped onto the back of the neck and an "I" serial number labeling it for export (to Japan !).

This one seems to have found its way back to Iowa as I got it second hand in Des Moines ! Both the neck and body are labeled Sept 89 in the neck joint and again under the shielding I placed all over the inside cavity.

A rare bird !

Yep my collection has been growing since 1982 or 3 though none of the originals have survived except a very battered 3/4 size spanish nylon stringed axe from 1980 (good God is that really 24 years ago !).

Ahhh its not so much the years as the millage !

I've decided to do some development work on my WeeBeastie concept, so some of my gear has to go for fund-raising. I'm gonna miss the VT-22. I put a set of 5881's into it for crunch at semi-reasonable volumes, but if the buyer wants to use it for demolishing buildings, I can install a set of JJ KT88s

I know the feeling I'm really happy with my new microstack but the temptation to buy a Marshall TSL100 valve head and a couple of 1960 4 x 12s is very strong (or maybe get the greenback version..yumm !) even if it is just to see the looks of horror on my 'kin neighbors faces (damn them, stomp them, turn them to dust) !!

Never mind, Catherine says I can have them after we have bought a house, which comes after finding a new job !!

pooo ! I hate waiting !!!

It says JH-1 on the bottom and I bought it used. It's a bit beat up, so I suppose it could be an original. Doesn't say re-issue anywhere on it.

Jackson Warrior
and I play my pal's Lyon by Washburn, or I played it before I got my Jackson :D

I run my guitar through my pal's Fender Frontman 25R.
I'm looking to buy a good amp any suggestions?

I'm also looking to buy a Boss DS-1 and maybe a Danelectro Fabtone pedal, and of course a Boss MT-2 metal zone. Any suggestions of some other good pedals to look out for, hopefully some cheap ones with a unique/nice sound.

Alrighty...this is first to reveal my equipment to the people of ye olde forum...
Guitars:Gibson SG Special Faded(just got it like a month ago), Fender Strat, Washburn 12-string acoustic, L.A Acoustic, Crafter Acoustic Electric, Some guitar out of the trash, Epiphone Pro 2(electric), Montana 3/4 size acoustic.
Amps:I almost always use my Peavey Delta Blues 210. Also, i have a Marshall MG10, and a 50's silvertone, model 3130 i do believe.
Pedals:Boss DS-1 Distortion(not a bad pedal)
Cry-baby(how do you go without one?)
Danelectro Chili Dog octave pedal
I have a digitech rp100 but I never use it anymore.
That was fun... the coolest face ever

As you can see in these posts, there are a lot of MT-2 pedals out there. If you want to stand out, you should try something a little different. I always prefered the sound of my old Ibanez SM-9 Super Metal. The summbitch who stole it obviously agreed!

Try an OD-20, I'm still blowing bubbles and getting very excited about mine !

It will do a really accurate tube screamer (A-B'd it with my TS9DX and can only just tell the difference) and processes right through the OD1 and OD2 to blues drivers, to whey passed the HM1 and MT2 all the way to "wall of stacks dropped octave nuclear meltdown death by acid-bath chainsaw murder baby- eater"

Fantastic !
