Not really sure what you're asking... Do you mean that, when you play an Em chord, the high E string rings out? 'Cause that's normal and OK.

If you're just a strummer, then you'll soon learn that you're "aim" with the plectrum doesn't have to be perfect; the rhythm is more important.

Maybe if you can rephrase your exact question, someone can help you out better than I did!
... and that's all I have to say about that.

Buddy if you are really word about the high e string ringing out practice slowly not hitting it. As you get better you can speed up, and the high e string sound will disappear.

I think he means a "pick", which is also called a "plectrum". I've never seen it abbreviated to a "pleck" though.
Blues is easy to play, but hard to feel.

The high e is supposed to ring out on those chords.

Are you playing electric or acoustic?
Sometimes I hit notes only dogs can hear.

jet...for the future use of this forums it would be nice if you could use a dot every now and then, for it makes your stuff easier to read. i cannot see where a sentence ends or anotherone begins. i had to read it like 3 times to get a bit of what you were saying. if you expect us to undersand you and answer correctly, then please provide us with readable material - else you might end up getting wrong or no replies at all. ;) other than that - welcome to guitartricks!

Check to see if its in tune...thats an obvious one! Strings do make a difference, change up your problem string. Strings can lose their luster over time or with play and sound dull. Now i said dull, not completly outta tune soooo.
WWSD? What would stevie do?

I think i can help you, your talking about the high e is louder then the rest of the chord, like i over powers the rest of the chord.

well their is a couple of things, 1. The high e string gauge could be bigger then the rest of the strings, cuz bigger strings mean big better tone. 2. It could just be out of tune. 3. you could be hiting it too hard, try playing soft until the ring stops then slowly pick up the power.

thanks stapled4 you hit the nail on the head you where spot on with what you said. i have checked to make sure that the string is in tune. it is so i think it is because i am hitting it to hard i will play softer till it goes away cheers all for your help
