Yeah, those were the good old days. Anyone know whatever happened to Ed? (is he dead?)

I still wonder why this is, or becoming more difficult than what really is? One figured it out, why not 2 or more?

One of the rules of this forum is to not come here to intentionally start arguments. Chris understand that our job as moderators is to keep things in order. One of those things is to try to keep "pissing matches" at minimum. This isn't the place for Griphon if he wants to 'take on' everyone or anyone, nor is it a place to see who knows more on the subject. This section of the forum is to talk about music theory; whether helping someone, having a debate, or just talking about the subject. Griphon is more than welcome here, but such posts as "I'll take you on" aren't welcome. He should rethink his attitude before posting, especially if he wants people to listen to what he has to say.

Granted, "I'll take you on" isn't one of Griphons most poetic posts, on the other hand I've seen no derogatory comments posted from griphon attacking one's character [deleted]Isn't also one of the moderators duties to edit out name calling and derogatory remarks instead of encouraging it?

Sorry but you got what you asked for.

I didn't attack griphon's character, I basically said chill out if you want people to listen to you. I've warned him a couple times already about this. And one of the rules is you don't come to the forum with intent to start arguments, that's not my rule but one I must enforce. Calling someone dishonest is attacking someone's character, griphon is not innocent. He's done it several times to me, and I'm not the only one who sees it. His name has been brought up before by others, and I stuck up for him because he is someone very welcome to this site when he's not making those kind of remarks. He should take that as a warning for I am being fair towards him. Deleting his posts would be unfair cause everyone has a right to say what they want to. But who likes people that write stuff like that???

As for Christoph, I think he was just joking around or maybe he too saw how griphon was being. I dunno.

Griphon,

You are very welcome to this site and you have the right to post what you want. But you can't come to the site to intentionally start trouble on this site. You can express your opinion but be mature about it.

Wow . . . didn't know everyone was so serious around here. I thought NTM was joking, so I followed his lead.

Don't egg me on people. I've got a mouse with a trigger finger, and I will delete this thread!!! Mwahahahaha!!! :)

Haha...yeah Christoph, while you were gone griphon, chris, and me have had alittle too much fun with the theory forum. 'LOL'

Don't delete this thread though, for the most part it's cool. Just trying to get griphon to chill out and forget the past basically. There's alittle history to this, and why I wrote what I wrote.

Just kidding about the whole deletion thing, btw.

yeah we taught Notice all about German, French, and Italian 6th chords, not without some kicking and screaming though. Good thing no ones ever brought up Neopolitans.

What's funny about those debates we had is, I have a different view on the subject, I express it, we debate it, I prove my point, and it ends with me being dishonest but no one can prove what I am saying is wrong. All to see who knows more on the subject in a traditional sense. When the rule musicians should share is lost. Music theory is theory, there is always going to be holes in it or infinite possibilities. My point was always to point out the holes so that one day music will once again be an art not a science. A shared thought that me and DeBussy have.

"There is no theory. You have only to listen. Pleasure is the law. I love music passionately. And because l love it, I try to free it from barren traditions that stifle it. It is a free art gushing forth, an open-air art boundless as the elements, the wind, the sky, the sea. It must never be shut in and become an academic art." - DeBussy

I'm trying to teach you and it's sad that you can only see it as academic, ignoring the non-academic.

I really, really love this support, you can't imagine. This is a guitar tricks site. This site is to take theory notions and make them work! I have a view! You might not like the view, but it's stupid simple. Just listen, we're musicians, or have we missed the point. There is no POV, accept the one that works. You're working on the kindness.
Life is simple! We must LISTEN. It's OUR art. I thank the honest people I don't know. Kindness still abounds. One can't beat that in a moment.

LOL . . . *shakes head*

I really have no idea what you're trying to say.

Oh, by the way, CM, what are German, French, and Italian 6th chords? Any different from a normal sixth chord?
