Hi,
What pick thickness do you use to strumming, please? Because it is easier using 0.6-0.7mm thickness pick for Rhythm Embellishments Practice Tune 2 in Rock 1 for me. The thicker plectrum always get stuck in the strings.

Depends what i'm playing, if i'm using an acoustic guitar i normally go with 0.73 nylon plectrum but if i'm playing electric guitar i use 0.73 tortex plectrum. Even though they are the same thickness the tortex has a lot less flex than the nylon, i've experimented with lots of different ones over the years but have settled on these and they've been my go to plectrums for a long time now.
Picks are a great topic. Personally I find it best to get a bunch and find what feels good in your hand and also what sounds good to your ears. And they are so cheap its easy to do.
But I do like a very flexible pick on accoustic.
This year the diet is definitely gonna stick!
I'm with Will, get a variety pack and try them out. I use gray Dunlop grippy .88's. I can't really get with a super-floppy pick. However, for a very long time, I was a Dunlop Jazz III, which are small and pointy. It was a legacy from my more shreddy days. I actually had to reteach myelf to us a bigger, less ridged pick. I sill grab a Jazz III once in a while but mostly I'm using the full sized 'normal' picks.
But, you just gotta test them until you find it. Sometimes it changes too.
I do prefer the grippy picks though. I'm a heavier strummer/picker so picks tend to go flyer if they are smooth.
Thank you for the answers. I have already no fear on choosing a wrong plectrum. Now I use Dunlop 0.6mm but I use the Boss 0.88, too because I think it helps me on holding the plectrum on the right way and learning the right strumming.
I use anything ranging from .70 on electric guitar right up to 5mm on a Selmer copy acoustic.
The only "wrong" choice I can think of would be trying to shred with a very thin pick.
I wish this forum had a "block user" feature. Possibly I'm not the only one......
everything from a low of 0.38 up to the little red jazz pick
currently using the McPherson 0.76
ordered from the US after someone queried what pick Lisa was using in one of her lessons .
they have 3 differing corners to experiment with and a triangular hole in the centre which assists with the grip
Picks are one of the lesser evils of GAS
