Hello, I have just started playing the guitar. I am currently one month into the lessons. So far, I can finger the C, D, G, Am and Em chords without looking and with pretty good tone. I'm slow at changing chords, but it seems that I am getting faster everyday. Right now I'm kinda of stuck as to where I go to next. I don't want to write music, I just want to learn how to play 80's rock songs (Autograph, Whitesnake, AC/DC, Def Leppard, etc). Lately, I have been practicing all my time in getting those chord changes down pat. I've just started to play All Summer Long - Kid Rock, TNT - AC/DC and Smoke on the water - Deep Purple. Am I heading in the right direction? When I'm ready, should I go onto the next lesson? Is there anything I might be missing? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

What course are you working through? I encourage you as a beginner to work through the GF1 & 2 courses. Then, since you want to play rock songs, do the Rock 1 & 2 Courses.

What lesson are you on?
In general, you can always go forward to the next lesson of any course to stay interested & learn new things! But always make time to go back over & repeat practice on any idea or skill that until you've completely mastered it!
Hope that helps! Have fun!

Just to pile onto Christopher's great advice, this "keep practicing" thing is there for anybody that plays...even Christopher :).
I always have things I'm trying to polish that I carry along as I learn new things. I always have some new tricky riff or lead part that is tripping me up. Other times it's a tricky chord change I'm trying to smooth out. Every time I pick up the guitar, I will run through them at least once. Sometimes it's takes a long while, but eventually it comes together.
And once they come together, you have to keep playing them periodically to keep them in your memory banks.
Sounds to me like you are off to a great start...keep up the great work!
Sorry, I forgot to add that I have completed 64% of GF1. I have gone through each lesson more than once to refresh my memory.
