I know that the videos in Guitar Tricks use Flash, but Sony in all their infinite wisdom decided that the PS4 would not support Flash.

Would it be possible to include an option in account settings where users can select which player to use (either Flash or HTML5).? That way I would be able to play the Guitar Tricks videos using the HTML5 player on my PS4.

Cheers,

Carl

Hi there! You're correct on this. PS4 used to support Guitar Tricks videos, but it seems as if they've gone ahead and updated the system's browser so that it isn't compatible with our videos anymore.

The system we use to host and run our videos support the major web browsers like Google Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, and Safari. The PlayStation 4, or any game console for that matter, has never been officially supported.

We definitely understand the frustration here, and we're always trying to improve so that anyone can learn to play guitar. I don't have anything to say about HTML 5 at the moment, but it is a great idea. We always appreciate feedback from this amazing community of guitar players.

Hey Carl,

I never viewed a gaming system as a great way to use the web. Too cumbersome.

My recommendation is to either use a laptop that has HDMI and connect to the tv and then use a wireless mouse to navigate.

Another way is to get a streaming device that supports Android and use an all-in-one little bluetooth keyboard with built-in mousepad. Then just choose your browser (i.e. Firefox, Chrome, Opera, etc) and off you go. Alternatively, any Android phone offers an app that you can use it as a bluetooth remote for the streamer: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.tv.remote&hl=en

Android Streamers (I use Minix Neo myself):

Small All-in-one-Keyboard (there are larger keyboards too):

Actually web on gaming system is really great feature, it frees my laptop, and i can use my laptop when watching something on ps4 for example. It will be really useful if Guitar Tricks will work on PS4 too.

GT is a little behind since Flash is dying in favor of html5.

I am not sure why websites still produce Flash as most browsers do not support by default.

Anyway, back to my lessons

I too enjoyed the ps4 set up until the upgrade that ended GT being compatible . I actually suspended my GT account and started using another online lesson program . Im now doing a side by side comparison to see which I better navigate and learn from.
