I've been playing for 25 years and i,ve never heard of "pinch harmonics". Do you mean the harmonics you get when you pick the string and mute it with our thumb at the same time?

There's no substitute for expeience. So get out there and break some strings on stage.

Yes, they're when you pick and hit the string with the side of your thumb simultanously,or,rather are already resting the side of your thumb on the string..a bit tricky, but they create a note (I beleive) one octave higher than fretted .Try picking around the neck pickup and playing at ,around, the 12th fret. Just "developing" these myself..initially mine came from sloppy technique!
Accuracy,you say? hmm interesting concept..

James8831 is right about the picking and damping with the thumb. You can (theoretically) get pinched harmonics anywhere on the guitar but some seem easier to find than others! In practice you should be "pinching" the string 12 frets above where you are fretting it. This means that you are often pinching beyond the neck, somewhere over the pickups. It really comes down to lots of practice and experimentation.
