Don't know if you remember me but I am working on several of the songs you have done and practicing House of the Rising Sun. I am in a quandary as far as future purchase of an acoustic electric. I own a Keith Urban Night Star solid body, but since I only make 965 a month on SS, yes I am 65 in March, do you think I should purchase a Fender T bucket 200 to learn on or wait six months and buy the Martin AGCP A5k. I can probably buy the Martin but its going to be monthly payments and not all at once. Maybe there are musicians out there giving away guitars?? LOL

Hey there! This is a tough question for me to answer for you. The Fender looks like a decent guitar for the price, but the Martin would be better quality. Maybe with your budget you'd be able to find a higher quality guitar second hand?

I would say if you are just looking for a decent instrument to learn with, the Fender would be a good choice. If you are looking for an instrument to play gigs with etc., it may not hold up as well.

Hope this helps! Let me know how it goes

You won't believe this, but just for the heck of it I applied for the no interest guitar center card and got approved. Although I now can buy that Martin, I think I will just keep the card set aside and learn on my Keith Urban and maybe in January I will buy the Martin. Now I have another question. Do you know if there is any significant difference between the Martin GPCP A5K or the Martin GPCP A5? Know anyone that owns either?

Another also. Your opinion I put in general discussion but your idea might help more. Go with a Taylor 114 CE or a Martin GPCP A5? BTW, the Martin is currently on sale at GC for 600, and the Taylor is 675. Thanks Mike.

Unfortunately I don't know anyone personally who plays those models of Martin, and I can't really figure out what the major difference is between those 2 models. As for the Martin vs Taylor, at this price point, they will both be very comparable guitars. If possible, the best thing to do would be to try out both guitars and see which feels and sounds the best for you personally.

Hope this helps, good luck with it!

Thanks Mike. I have played the Martin and the Taylor both and I like them, but I believe because I want to be able to pay it off as quick as possible, I am going to just buy the Fender T bucket 400 CE. I think I can get it and a solid case for around 300 to 400 total. Next year the Martin.

Well toss out everything I said since the Fender isnt available for the 0 percent financing. Made a decision and I think it's the right one. I am buying a Yamaha FGX 820C. I like it as a good solid learner guitar and also its darned nice for down the road. At 400 its a good option for me. Thanks for the help Mike!!
