Because I would like to use a large screen TV to watch tutorials I thought it would be good to use my Xbox One to navigate through the GT website.
The big problem is that Tutorial Videos don't seem to play. The video area of the screen is just a big black box.
I can view the intro videos without any problems so is this something to do with the extra features e.g. A/B looping?

My Xbox One uses Microsoft Edge and has the latest updates installed.

Has anyone else had any experience with this?

Thanks

Thanks Compart1

So it looks like it's a Flash Player issue within Microsoft Edge on the XBox One then.

I have no problem seeing tutorial videos on PC using Edge on Windows 10 so it looks like Microsoft decided not to implement it on Xbox One Edge.

So annoying as I very much wanted to use my TV! Oh well......

I'm afraid there's no solution for this on our end as we don't yet support Xbox browsers.

Yeah I'm sorry to say it. The browsers on those game systems are just a different animal and can be really problematic.

C'mon. With all due respect, its not a problem with the XBOX or PS browsers. Its because GT uses Adobe Flash instead of HTML5. Adobe Flash is dead. The longer GT procrastinates, the more people that migrate over to Jamplay.

I'm sorry for the frustration. We do want to make Guitar Tricks accessible to all of our members. We are always discussing ways to improve our site and listen to feedback from our members.

I have certainly noticed an increase in members who are interested in using our site via a gaming console. I will bring this up for discussion with the team.

I agree - HTML5 will work on most platforms today. Adobe flash is a dead technology.
The faster guitartricks moves to html5 - the better.

Is there any move on this? I'm considering a subscription but wanted to check first.

Thanks

The video services we use do not officially support any of the game consoles like PS4, or Xbox One. In the past, I've heard of users being able to use a PS4 with Guitar Tricks but recently, an update to the PS4 prevented the web browser from working with our videos. I suspect the same thing will be true of the Xbox One.

The supported web browsers for Guitar Tricks are Safari, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer, and Microsoft Edge.

Newer versions of the Xbox One operating system does have Microsoft Edge built in, so you can try it out, but again, the console version of the web browser may not have all the functions of the desktop counterpart.

One way to use Guitar Tricks on a larger screen, like your TV is to use screen mirroring via the Guitar Tricks phone app. If you have a smart TV/Chromecast with the ability to cast your phone screen onto the TV, theoretically you might be able to mirror your phone onto the TV as your phone is in the Guitar Tricks app. I've never tried that myself, but it could work.

An easier way is to hook a laptop to the TV's hdmi port, if your laptop supports that.

recently, dec 2018 i became a member and love the site. i was jamming using my mac book with external speakers. rock on! my computer crashed (is my music that bad HA HA) however decided to try it thru ps3. no flash support. reading these old posts from 2016 and still GT has not updated for compatibilty to gaming systems (ps3 anyhow).

Is there not enough user needing html to justify an update or is GT making their money so they don't care> i knows tht if my old old lap top dies i will have to use my phone and that is not happening!!

What have others done ?

I heard the name Jamplay.
