Hey guys,

This is my first post in the listening section. I'm playing one of Ben Lindholm's arpeggio lessons called "Up One, Down Another." The main reason I'm posting this is to get some feedback/constructive criticism. Keep in mind I've only been playing for 11 months, so if it sounds kind of sloppy, that's why!

Very nice!!! ESPECIALLY for only playing for 11 months! Very fluid and clean sounding.

It's great that you did it to a backing track. I think that is so important. Even though it is an exercise, it gives it a musical context and forces you to play in time.

I should take a look at this exercise myself. It looks like a good tool to have in your arsenal.

Nice looking strat too. I like the red and black color combination.

Nicely done!!

Thank you! I have been working A LOT on that exercise. I thought I had it down a few weeks ago, but it wasn't as clean/fluid, so I just kept at it.

But definitely go ahead and learn it or any of those other arpeggios. It's really just as good of a picking exercise as anything else, since most of it is one note per string. My next goal is to learn to economy/sweep pick it. :)

Thanks man. Yeah I love the sound of it. Even at slower speeds. It almost sounds more emotional to the slow jam track (60 bpm).

Do you mean bars 3 and 4 (with Dm through Gadd9)? Or do you mean the C and the C#dim? I found that if I slowed back down to where it was really easy, it allowed my fingers to figure out a more efficient way to play it. But there are definitely some awkward parts to get down.
