I got to say something cause I'm really pissed right now.

I don't want to get into a all out war cause this is not the place... but I will say this.

Last game of the Toronto Raptors (BasketBall), the american fans booed our Canadian Anthem. WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT ABOUT!

Come on, we may not be the biggest and strongest country out there but we deserve a little respect.

I'm sorry about those who will say that it's all about the competition between teams but that does'nt excuse what they did.

I'm really disappointed right now. I just hope that the canadian fan will not do the same thing when the game is played our side of the border.

I'm just asking USA citizens in the forum, how would you have felt if we did that....

Well, I don't really know anything about basketball, but you're right, even the strongest competition or rivalry doesn't excuse booing the other team's anthem.

So before Educatedfilm comes on with all his usual stuff, let me just say that you're right to be "pissed off". The crowd probably got carried away in anticipation for the game, but there's still no excuse.

Benoit, I think that ANY anthem ought to be respected...

Sadly, people think that a game becomes a war, just look at those idiots in french stadiums, wearing swastikas and shaving their heads... I think the english have their own kind of freaks...
I think of a country as made by individuals. I have friends in the USA that are like a family to me. I have known some guys from Algeria that were like brothers. I know a priest that went to Africa to help people out. When someone mentions any of those countries, I don't think anthem or geography, but people. SO i respect any country as if I knew someone I loved was living there...

I think that our heart and our world will be at peace when we see other humans as brothers and sisters...

i have to agree with everyone here. this new invigorated patriotism that has started up is no excuse. every anthem should be respected no matter what. the players on the other team play hard for their country and feel the same way we do about ours. i guess they're just a little bit more classier and better sports than we are.

on behalf of all americans i want to apologize for the behavior, it's shameful. i would not stand for it happening to my country or any others.

the majority of the people in america are sheep. As in Orwell's "Animal Farm" or Pink Floyd's Animals", they will follow the leader without question and won't examine the situation with a clear objective mind. that's why there is so much bling patriotism and megalomania, it is no excuse and it's a shame it exists. THey get caught up in the flow and they act because of it.

Sorry, i'm ranting.

To improve technique and of course trying to keep all as clean as possible. I know my own limits and speed limits and so on I never play anything I'm not capable of. That wouldn't make any sense. After three years of playing I tried to play everything as fast as possible and that sounded, I would say, like shit, and I didn't realize that if I'd play bit slower things than I was capable of playing then everything would sound much better.

I have to agree with zepp_rules. Please don't think that all of us south of the border are like that. Most of us think rather highly of our neighbors to the north. I love this country but we do have our embarassing moments. :o

That's a damn dissapointment. I'm a fellow Canadian by the way.

Crazy basketball fans... if only musicians ruled the world.

Don`t get me wrong, I`ll never think that all americans are bad, cause I know better.

I mean, I went a little far but let me explain.

I'm french canadian, and for those who don't know a lot about our country is that there's an silent social war going on. Part of the province of Quebec wants to seperate from CANADA. I know this is really weird. Why would someone want to be seperated from a good country? I admit we're far from perfect but it's still a great country, one I would like my kids to grow and live in.

Also, my father served in the air forces and I have uncles who fought in WW2 for Canada. They came back and lived a long a deserved life.

It's not blind patriotism for me to be frustrated when I see acts like those fans did. I listened to the tales of my uncles and saw the tears from their eyes when recollecting the events. And they were always proud to have fought a battle for the people in need. I guess I'm proud of the accomplishments that WE (all nations) made together in the face of adversity.

Still, we go and do things like disrespecting each other. I guess it's human nature. Like I said, I just hope the fans in Toronto will live and forget, this could turn ugly.

James I think you got it..can you imagine it...if musicians were in charge, we would settle our wars with a battle of the bands. Tax according to how much beer and ghs boomers cost at the time. Wailing with your amp set on wide open at 4am would not only be legal but encouraged. Having a regular gig would entitle you to sleep in the lincoln bedroom.
oh yeah...

So that everyone knows, far right parties got around 30% in France at this presidential elections (luckily, there's another vote to determine who's gonna be the president)... Now it feels weird to be ashamed of your own country...

Yeah, I forgot about that...

The Israeli minister of the interior told the Jews of France to 'pack up and come to Israel...' now that's scary...

Yeah that whole scene over there has been scary for a long time. At least your country, as most of Europe has the good sense to stay out of it. I, for the life of me, do not understand why America has to feel that we can right all the wrongs of the world. Lord knows we have enough problems right here at home that need attention. I do like the idea of musicians running the planet.

We'd cure all diseases, end poverty and hunger, achieve world peace, and have the best waterslides around. Lol . . .

I missed that movie. But it could work. Heck, Ozzy couldn't be any worse than some of the elected officials (and I use that term loosely) that we have now. :p

Don't you mean "ABOOT?"

All kidding aside, booing your national anthem was extreamly childish and I regret that it happened. I have family your side of the border, and I don't quite think of Canada as a different country...

Until I get to the border stationed manned by irate French Canadians who have a vengeful eye on my long hair and large vehicle with green plates.
