i'm REALLY sorry guys, but i'm gonna have to pull out of the work on the Cadre track... I've been unbelievably busy, I've had to go to manchester and Liecester, and I might be going to manchester again for a week (on friday), So there's really no chance i can contribute for this track... (unless, I decide to add to it 2 or 3 weeks down the line after you've all done your parts for it)..
I'm really sorry, I feel like i've let you all down..

Ok . . .

Rask!!! . . . . you want to do some vocals? (it's either that or I end up making a techno track out of it ...lol)

You DON'T want me to do vocals. I ::cough-cough:: "sing" on The Northfield Special, if you need proof. The Jailbait Song features my "oh God, I'm going to jail" shreak, but the rest of the vocals are done by my guitarist, Seth who can actually sing.

Ok I'm ready to send it. Thanks for being so patient. It was done a while ago but I was having computer problems and didn't have anyway to send it. Anyways... should I email it to you chris, or post it to the Yahoo board? Oh yeah, it's in .mp3 format, is that ok? I figured it would be easier to transfer that way, since it would be pretty large (probably too big for the yahoo board to hold) otherwise.

The time index is: 49:04:956

That's when it should start. Let me know if you have any probs.

Kewl!!! Try posting it in the Yahoo files section. If that doesn't work we can work out an email solution.

At what quality did you encode the mp3?

Just downloaded it . . .

And you say you're not Steve Vai. :) That beginning lick between 0:00 and 0:03 is great. And the lick from 0:08 to 0:12 is ingenious.

Are you sure that time index is right? . . . I have it coming in sometime between 1:57 and 1:58. Overall, great work. I noticed that we've got some "clippage" problems though. Whenever you punch in and play over yourself it clips the channel like a motha'. So maybe you can just send all the guitar parts you recorded as separate mp3s?

LOL... thanks.

hmm.. I'm pretty sure the index is right. But if you hear it working someplace different then you're probably right. I'll check it again. About the clippage, do you mean that the differant tracks I did are distorting when they play together? Would it help if I went back and did a better job cleaning up the ends and beginnings? I kind of thought those loud buzzings were EQ issues or something, like I said I'm not to good at this stuff! But if you'd rather me send each clip I could do that too, might get complicated though in peicing it back together.

Whoops my bad. I was giving you the wrong time index number. My time bar was set up to display not the "real time" but instead some other numbering system... i dunno, it just reads starts at 1 and keeps going... hehe.

Yeah the actual time index is 1:57:18

That makes more sense.

Yeah, Sonar and ACID have this thing where they display notes instead of the actual time.

Clippage - it seems like it's wherever you overlapped your different guitar parts. So if you sent me each separate clip I could work around that, plus I could do panning of each separate track. The buzzing at the very end is an EQ problem (way too much bass), but I think I can fix that.

P.S. What do you want to do with the rest of this thing? If Ed's not going to sing we'll have a lot of open space.

BTW, that part from 15 to around 22 seconds is freaking awesome. It blends perfectly with the chords.

Well I could send you each individual clip, but I could probably fix it up myself, make sure the overlapping doesn't produce any distortion.

As for what i think we should do with the whole track... I'm not sure exactly. I could try and work out some melody but I'm not sure it would turn out that great, seems more like a vocal type peice.

Also, I'm leaving in two days to British Columbia where I'll be staying for a week, so I won't be able to do anything and will probably need a bit of time when I get back to polish up my chops again.

15-18 seconds- thanks for the compliment! It's good to hear, because I really didn't wasn't sure about my lead part, I didn't like it too much. I spent a ton of time just jamming over that loop, it was driving me crazy!
I think probably the worst part is the last section, once it turns into E minor. I knew I wanted to compliment the change with something in E minor but I don't think I executed it very well (timing is a bit off.. ), but by that time I was getting so fed up with my playing I gave in.

LOL . . . yeah, the E minor part is a bit rough. It's such an insane rhythm that maybe trying to put a solo over it isn't a good idea.

Well, if you're leaving in a few days, just upload the individual solos, and I'll work with them. A text file up there that shows where everything goes would help too.

Peace.

Ok, I'll post them on the yahoo board. Leave the last section out if you want (the E minor part). The part before it kind of leaves off on an odd note so I wanted to resolve it back so to speak using the last part, but it's up to you; you're the producer
