Are Stainless Steel Strings as good as advertised? They are supposed to last longer, keep in tune and stay cleaner than the standard strings. Is it all hype or are they worth looking into?

Google could not find these. Do you mean stainless steel frets? From all I hear they are worth it. Next refret I plan to try it.
...so ever since then, I always hang on to the buckle.

No I actually mean strings. D'Addario, Fender, Ernie Ball just to name a few that make them with the plug that they last longer and sound brighter. I don't want to ruin frets or anything so I was just wondering if they are a good thing. Also the fact that stainless has less or no iron in it which makes it less or non-magnetic so the coils would not pick up string movement as well... Just me thinking out loud

Good links; I am expecting too much from google these days.

Based on the comments, I think ss strings would not be for me. I also think the fret wear is going to be a serious issue regardless of the downplay. I didn't see any comments from anyone that was not 'just trying' them. (Aside from the guy with the allergy.)

Fretwear is measurable after just a few months (in my experience) using nickel plated. For similar reasons, I'm not overwhelmed by the extra cost of a plecking.
...so ever since then, I always hang on to the buckle.
