Brand New Leftie

Hello everyone,

I'm David from Kent in England and I am a complete beginner, I have decided to learn to play the electric guitar and I really hope it isn't as tough for a left hander as some people make out.
Any tips from fellow lefties would be fantastic. I'm sure I will have a lot of questions for you guys so please be patient.

I think it might just be easier to learn from videos as a lefty, since you don't have to mirror everything inside your head. :)

I always thought it was easier to learn from left-handed players like Hendrix... But maybe that's just me. :D

Welcome! I am a lefty. I have been playing righty my whole life.

My opinion is what we think of as right handed guitar is actually left handed, because the left hand has the harder job.

So I recommend you resist the temptation to learn to be like Hendrix and just play the regular way.
