This is EM I found it the easiest to make music sounding stuff to. You can do a lot with the EM minor pentatonic over this. I think
line out of your sound card into the cd jack of the Amp should do the trick

Almost all the basic chord tutorials in GF1&2 have basic backing tracks in order to practice the chord groups. At the bottom of each lesson page click the little arrow in the MP3 player. That will start a download of the MP3, which you can then save locally & play in the device of your choice. Examples:
A-D-E major chords:

C-F-G major chords:
http://www.guitartricks.com/lesson.php?input=11140&c_id=1&ch_id=6&s_id=443
E-A-B major chords:
http://www.guitartricks.com/lesson.php?input=11144&c_id=1&ch_id=6&s_id=444
A-D-E minor chords:

I also have tons of lessons aimed at practicing various chord changes with backing tracks at fast & slow tempos. Look on this page for "Chord Practice" tutorials. Same process, find a tutorial, find the MP3 player, download the MP3, practice chords!

Go to one of the lesson pages. Scroll to the bottom until you see the MP3 player. In the bottom half of the player, to far right of the title of the MP3 track name there is a white, downward pointing arrow. Click on that & the file should start to download.
If it doesn't, you may have a setting on your internet browser that blocks files from dowloading. After you click on the arrow, look at the top of the window. Is there a warning information bar that displays text like, "Warning, you are about to download a file from the site"? You might need to right click on that warning bar and select "Download the file". You might need to change some settings so your computer will allow to download the files.
Try again & let me know how it goes!

Hi
You could always download midi tracks and convert them to MP3's. I do this with my duo and we play live to the backing tracks. Here is some of our stuff. All these are midi backing converted to MP3:

When I want a basic backing track to learn a new song or practice with I locate midi files on the web for the tunes I want.
Even really bad midis can be used to learn a tune when stripped back to bass and drums.
Using Live Intro (cheaper version of Ableton live, but there's heaps of other software will do the same job) I import the drums bass and melody, attach instrument samples. You can output from live to audio or midi or export as wave or Aiff. To convert wave to mp3 something like audacity will do it easy.
By doing it like this I can cut various tempos, transpose and set it up how I want and whatever structure (intro/verse/chorus etc.) I want.
Hope this helps,
roBb

Chris, your lessons are great.
I am having the same trouble as Froggy.
I get a message that I need Quicktime Pro 7 to dowload MP3 Files. This is not true! My permission are okay also.
Any tips?

Thanks! Glad you are enjoying GT & my lessons.
First check that Windows Media player (or whatever) is your default MP3 player. Next click on the little downward pointing arrow next to the MP3 player at the bottom of the lesson page. Not the video lesson download button!
This should open the MP3 backing track in WMP on your PC. From there you can save as locally on your machine.
Make sense? I do this a lot & just tested it again this morning, worked perfectly. :) Let us know how it goes or if you have more trouble with it.

Thanks Chris,
I managed to figure it out. QuickTime was being a pig and preveting all my other applications from downloadin the MP3. I think its a Steve Jobs conspiracy. Anyway, I disabled automatic use of QuickTime, and now I am literally rockin'.
Again, really enjoy your lessons. Your chord changing excercises with the backing track are really helping me with the muscle memory to learn chords.
Best Regards, Jeff
