Triads & Inversions
I am new here and have started the beginner lessons. Everything was going great untill I got to the "Triads & Inversions" lessons. I seem to have hit a wall here, the lessons are just to fast, to much info all at once, where can I go to get "slower" paced lessons on Triads & Inversions? Otherwise, I love the sight so far!

Hey & welcome!
First, take your time in accomplishing the skills in those lessons gradually. You can move forward through the course, but make time to go back over the inversions until you can do them.
Next, they are tricky little shapes. Remember to be patient with yourself. Some of this has to do with isolating only three strings to strum. Some of it might have to do with twisting your fretting fingers around to isolate those three notes. Take your time. Like much of the Fundamental courses, you might find watching the lessons quick & easy, but actually being able to do what is taught a lot more time consuming.
Finally, there are many other tutorials I've done on triads & inversions. These are much longer & more involved. We tried to make everything in the Fundamentals courses concise & to the point! So, for a more leisurely approach to triads & inversions, please use these to supplement your GT lessons. :)

Chris, thanks for this I was looking for more details on Triads and Inversions. Maybe this should be put back in as part of the GF course, as it really gives it more meaning and adds to the understanding. I also must say you do a great job of teaching! I have been a member for just over a year and man I have learned a lot from both you and Lisa. Thanks

You are welcome! And thanks for the compliment & positive feedback. :)
Let me know how it goes. Best of success.Originally Posted by: TheGMChris, thanks for this I was looking for more details on Triads and Inversions.
You are welcome, too! Those lessons never were a part of the GF course. They are really too long. That's why the GF version is different. It's a stripped down, compact, lean & mean version of the same ideas & skills as in the longer ones.
Many of the lessons in the GF1&2 courses are expanded & explored in more depth in other tutorials on the site. If you are curious about a topic, skill or idea, just ask in our instructor forums & we will be glad to point you to these non-course lessons.

Lisa is a great teacher! GT is fortunate to have her here. Both Lisa & I have a lot of lessons that expand on the basics in GF1&2. If you haven't already seen them, you might benefit from looking at the new Instructor Directories that categorize & link all our lessons.
Here is Lisa's:

The neat thing here is that if you are interested in Triads & Inversions, you can scroll down looking for that title. And there you will find the GF1&2 course tutorials, but also the other related tutorials! Hope this helps you find more lessons of interest.
And thanks for the compliments. Glad you are getting value from GT! Best of success. :)
