Tones and settings

Goodmorning to all my friends at GT,
does anyone know if there is a site/book/database where I can find settings for amplifiers and/or pedals? I have a couple of modelling software but do not know (or am I too lazy?) to tweak them until I find the right sounds. I mean just the basic, which amplifier to use to play blues or jazz, for example, or settings to emulate famous artists and so on.
Any answer will be really apprecciated.

I don't know of any site, I do know that amps all have their own unique sound, and some sound better for blues, others for rock, but most of all you buy an amp for it's characteristic sound and that's personal taste

if you want to emulate the sound of a specific artist you probably need the same guitar and amp or some effects board, but each effects board is different, I do think that you can find some settings on their forums

Personally I use guitar rig 4 and the Kontrol rig interface and the MixCraft package (Garage Band type ssytem for PC's). The UI is much more useable and adjustable than the line 6 PoDxt. Not as many amps in the database but I find it much more usaeable. It has a ton of presets that include Blues classical, rock metal etc. I have learned so much more about tone shaping than using the Line 6 Pod apps.

I have been using the databases listed below to build out custom cabinets and tweaking the setting to dial in ac/dc ted nugent, van halen, sammy hagar etc.

Tried the link and got an error - It would be cool to check the site out. If anyone is using a digital modeler then some presets of popular sounds are always included with them. Just a thought. Otherwise a Fender Blackface Twin is always a good start with jazz or blues.

I have been working on my tone for a few years. the first thing I did was realize what my place was in the band. I am a rhythm player so I don't need to sound like Hendrix. First look at the guitar you are playing. Humbuckers or single coil? that makes tone. Your amp makes tone. Newer digital amps have all kinds of settings that you have to play with to find your tone. Pedals make tone. the trick is every time you change one thing, everything else sounds different. you have to decide who you want to be. Or be able to change everything to change tone between songs while on stage. Good Luck
