Total Newbie here.

Bought an Epiphone Broadway. Travel 160+ days per year. Need to do my lessons and practice in a hotel room. Didn't know it when i bought it, but archtops can throw a lot of sound. Can i get baffles or silencers or a mute for the f holes somewhere so that I can quitely practice in a hotel room?

(I'm a reformed classical trumpet player, so am hoping there is such a thing as the guitar equivalent of a "mute", but cannot find it.)

Kindest,
Chris

Chris, while I imagine that you'd prefer a solution that's free, if you can afford it there are "silent guitars" that I think would be great for traveling. I have no personal experience with them but saw a guy playing one in an airport once and it looked really cool. He pulled it out of its gig bag, snapped it together, plugged in some headphones and drifted off into his own little world. :)

Many thanks. I will think about that.

....and I realize that I did not spell "quietly" correctly. Better get that typing dyslexia sorted or it will make chords more difficult.

when you say quiet, do you mean no sound or low sound. Do you just want to practice freting and fingering? Might I suggest a strip of tape around all the strings down by the bridge,. No sound or a slight "thunk" but you can finger, fret, chord form and switch practice as well as practice picking. I do this when i dont want to disturb anyone with late night practicing
