I m sure this is the right place for this post but i wouldnt be offended if its moved, I have been playing with recording my own sound through my computer and I am wonder what some of the audio effects will do, Such as a AUhigh pass or low pass, a dynamic equilizer , those sorts of things

I am trying to make my sound much cleaner and fuller, I use an acoustic guitar and I have been playing with my mic placement and it makes a difference to play with the acoustics of my room, but when you record the sound, it feels so "dead". The very full sound of my guitar gets lost somewhere along the road i guess.

lol sorry i guess these is actually in the wrong forum, shoulda posted in recording  :p

High pass filter, like the name implies allows higher frequencies to pass (reduces the low end) Just the opposite for the low pass filter. dynamic EQ allows you to get a better handle in the sound by allowing you to control individual frequency ranges. This eq usually has a "Q" value which allows you to select the frequency width that each selection will effect.

Try some compression and a little reverb in addition to the ones you mentioned. Also posting an example of your recordings will allow us to hear it and make better suggestions.

Try getting a long tube, such as the center cardboard roll that wrapping paper comes on...

Have one end of the tube near the soundhole of your acoustic (just a few inches) and put a mic at the other end of the tube....That's a studio trick that will make it sound "bigger". It's good to also mic the soundhole and record 2 tracks at once using this method.
