Heh, I heard about this on the radio this morning and thought she just made some offhand comment on the fly somewhere...but no, seeing that she wrote it in her blog shows she really put some "thought" into it.

while the TMI factor is through-the-roof on this article, i generally stand behind celebrities, or anyone in a position of power, to discuss conservationism. while im not going to get into arguments with people over how much electricity al gore really uses in his mansion, i will just say this: al gore used his power in an extremely influential way, and his efforts alone have at least made people think about changing their habits. i cant expect the guys on the podium to do exactly what i want them to do 100% of the time, but im really glad that more and more newsworthy people are spreading the gospel, regardless if they follow it or not.

its the idea, and ideas lead to action.

I'm all about saving the environment and making sacrifices not to pollute, etc.. But one square is just crazy! :eek:

I'm about to have an Associates degree in Natural Resources Conservation. I can assure, using **** paper is the least of our problems. We just have to quit being such wasteful people. We need to establish an environmentally friendly fuel source. We need to recycle as opposed to trashing everything and treating the earth like we have the right to do whatever we want with no consequence. There is consequence. Humans are the only wasteful organisms on the planet. The rest have a place and a purpose in the ecosystem. Its all apart of the circle of life.

That all being said, I don't buy the whole Global Warming scenario. They say "ohhh, its 90 degrees here and 20 degrees here! Global warming!" No. Thats not Global Warming. Thats called equilibrium. In order for it to be GLOBAL warming, it has to be warm GLOBALLY. Pretty tough concept, I know. I don't buy the doom and gloom theories either.

Its all political really. The fact that Al Gore made a movie about it proves that point. You lead by example. If he really gave 2 ****s and wasn't doing it just to gain political power in one form or another, he'd be living in a tiny home, keeping a compost pile and growing all his own food. Not in a mansion riding a private jet place to place to make speaches.

How can someone say that with a straight face.

It makes a change to read somethin sensible about the 'natural' phenomenon that is global warming :)
